Education settings are facing increasing pressure to modernise their technology, strengthen safeguarding, and prepare for new legal requirements, all while continuing to deliver outstanding learning experiences.
To support this, tec Just Better is hosting a FREE education sector event covering Martyn’s Law, DfE standards, cyber security, digital strategy, and funding opportunities.
15th October 2026, 9.30 am – 4.30 pm at the Mary Rose Education Centre, Portsmouth
An Event Focused on Integrated Infrastructure in Education
In today’s fast-evolving digital landscape, the need for agile, integrated, secure, and future-proof systems is more important than ever. The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, commonly known as Martyn’s Law, comes into effect in April 2027 and introduces new compliance requirements for education settings. Simultaneously, the DfE issued updated digital and technology standards across 6 core areas to be met by 2030.
Alongside four speakers and partners, this inaugural event brings education settings up to speed with both Martyn’s Law and how it affects educational settings (effective April 2027), and the DfE updated digital and technology standards across six core areas to be met by 2030. Speakers will also discuss developing digital strategy, future classrooms, funding opportunities, and the latest cybersecurity insights and training across education from SECCU, while showcasing integrated infrastructure technologies.
Speaker Topics
Across the day, attendees will hear from industry specialists covering key topics, including:
-
Aubrey Wright, Martyn’s Law Solutions – Martyn’s Law 2025 and how it impacts education settings
-
Neil McQueen, South Hants College Group – What the classroom of the future looks like and shaping your digital strategy
-
Claire Walden, SECCU – DfE digital standards, cyber resilience, and emerging security threats
-
Robert Bentley – Available grants for schools and how to create a strong application
Each session is designed to provide practical insight, clarity around responsibilities, and guidance on how technology can support compliance, resilience, and long-term planning.
Whilst meeting the new Martyn’s Law legislation and the DfE digital and technology core standards, institutions will naturally have the opportunity to strengthen their digital strategy, improve security and preparedness, address cyber risks, support carbon reduction goals, and adopt technologies that enhance learning, safety, and facilities management.
Alongside our speakers and partners, tec Just Better is hosting this event to bring education settings up to speed with the new legal requirements and showcase the latest technologies available to support all areas of an educational setting.
